Today, 21st November 2017, the Malta Council for Science and Technology hosted the “Launching of the PRIMA Network”. The event, which took place at the Esplora Interactive Science Centre in Kalkara, saw the partecipation of Maltese and foreign researchers, who had the opportunity to hear about PRIMA, network and discuss potential project collaboration.
On 27 October, the EU and Egypt made a step forward towards strengthening their research and innovation cooperation. The two sides signed an agreement for scientific and technological cooperation setting out the terms and conditions for Egypt's participation in the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA).
Decision (EU) 2017/ 1324 of the European parliament and of the council of 4 July 2017 on the participation of the Union in the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), jointly undertaken by several Member States, was published on July 18, 2017, in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt, Ambassador Ivan Surkos and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghafar opened on 23 April 2017 the 1st PRIMA Stakeholders' Forum. The event aims at engaging stakeholders to open channels of information exchange and raising awareness about PRIMA.
