The Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas (CERTH) is a legal entity governed by private law with non-profit status, supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The five institutes of CERTH have important scientific and technological achievements in many areas including: Energy, Environment, Industry, Mechatronics, Information & Communication, Transportation & Sustainable Mobility, Health, Agro-biotechnology, Smart farming, Safety & Security, as well as several cross-disciplinary scientific areas. More than 650 people work at CERTH with the majority being scientists. CERTH has participated successfully in more than 1.000 competitive research projects (with a total budget exceeding 430 M€ and involving more than 1.100 international partner organizations) financed by the European Union (EU), leading industries from USA, Japan and Europe and the Greek Government via the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT). The Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB), one of the five institutes of CERTH, is the leading institution in Greece in the field of Biotechnology. INAB is involved in the development and use of biotechnological applications benefiting of the current advances in the field with emphasis on functional genomics and molecular engineering in the production of improved plant seeds and propagation material, aiming to provide solutions in important cultivation, food processing and agriindustrial problems.
4Prima role: WP7 Leader/Coordinating role in the generation of Communication material/ Participation and support to the following activities: project management, mapping of existing R&I initiatives on food systems and water resources, prioritization of objectives, stakeholders’ consultation and definition of SRIA, implementation. Furthermore CERTH, will give input in all the tasks in WP3, WP4, WP5 and WP6 where information and actions related to Greece is needed.
